Hello everyone,
Our shared concert with the Chester Brass Band will take place on stage at the Bella Rose Arts Centre this Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00 PM. Here are the details for the concert to make note of:
Arrival & Setup:
–
Percussionists: please arrive at 12:30 PM for gear moving and setup. –
Any additional volunteers who are able to help with stage setup are welcome to arrive between 12:45–1:00 PM. –
All other band members should arrive in the band room no later than 1:15 PM. –
HCB Banners will be placed on the front row stands and percussion stands
Soundcheck & Doors:
–
Chester Brass Band soundcheck: 1:00–1:15 PM –
Halifax Concert Band soundcheck: immediately following (focusing on transitions) –
Doors open: approximately 1:35–1:40 PM
Please ensure we have extra chairs and stands ready in the wings to allow for smooth transitions between ensembles.
Concert Order:

Chester Brass Band will perform first –
Intermission –
Halifax Concert Band will perform after intermission
During intermission, please gather your materials and be ready to go on stage promptly.
Equipment & Spaces:
–
Chester Brass Band will be bringing a drum kit and timpani, which we will also use. –
Halifax Concert Band will assemble and warm up in the Halifax West band room. –
Chester Brass Band will use the Green Room next door.
Concert Attire:
–
HCB shirt (with crest) *or* a plain black shirt –
Black pants or skirt – Black socks and footwear

Following our performance, we will strike the stage.
If you are one of the MC volunteers, you should have received a separate email from Holly with the concert script. If not, please reach out.
Finally, please continue to encourage family and friends to attend—admission is by freewill offering at the door.

Just sending a reminder that there is *no rehearsal Tuesday, March 17th* as the school will be closed due to it being March Break!
We will meet again on Sunday, March 22nd for our 2:00 concert at the Bella Rose Centre. Please keep an eye on your emails for later on this week for concert details and information.

I hope everyone has been having a great week! We have one rehearsal left before both of our March concerts. Please read below to see rehearsal notes and concert song info:
– For the March 10th rehearsal, we are going to rehearse in concert order for our March 22nd concert:

2. March of the Trolls
3. Eagles on Tour
4. Lion King
5. Lyric Essay
6. Celtic Suite
7. Hounds of Spring       
– For the March 24th concert we will be playing the following 3 songs:

1. March of the Trolls
2. Lion King
3. Hounds of Spring
*A reminder that there will be no rehearsal Tuesday, March 17 as the school will be closed for March Break!*

Hi everyone – for those of you who were not able to pick up your new band shirts, I will have them again at tomorrow’s rehearsal.
Your portion of the cost of the shirt is $20. This can be paid in cash or by e-transfer

Hello everyone,
We had yet another snow day… good weather coming next week, right? We now only have two rehearsals left until our March Concerts. I am going to keep the same rehearsal plan as if it were last week. These will be the concert pieces for Sunday, March 22nd (Hounds of Spring is a possibility – I will be deciding still on Tuesday). For the March 24th concert we will be playing some of these ones as well, but not all:
– Chorale warm up – Eagles – Hounds of Spring – Lyric Essay – March of the Trolls – Lion King – Celtic Suite – Northern Lights March (if time)
See you all Tuesday, March 3rd for our 6:30 rehearsal!

Due to the recent winter storm, all schools are closed today. This means the Halifax Concert Band rehearsal for this evening is also cancelled. See you next week.
