Hi all,
There will be parking available at Saint George’s round church parking lot tomorrow. That parking lot is accessible from Cornwallis Street.
Please be there by 1:15 pm, unless you are helping with set-up etc.

HCB Mar 5 Concert notes

Hi all,
As promised here are the details for our concert event this Sunday.
The Halifax Concert Band Celtic Concert Sunday, March 5th, 2023 2 pm (Admission-collection at the door) St. Patrick’s Church 2267 Brunswick Street Halifax
Please be at St. Patrick’s Church by 1:15 pm for assembly and warm-up Set-up crew please arrive for 1 pm Equipment Truck unload crew for 12:30 (side parking lot) (please note: equipment truck loading at Halifax West High School for those volunteers is set for 3:30 pm on Friday March 3rd at the band room)
Dress is formal black (with optional Irish accessories) Please bring a music stand (except front row and percussion) and stand light if needed. Irish music envelopes will be collected after the Sunday concert (except Kirkpatrick’s Muse)
Parking is available along the side of the church by the accessible ramp. All other parking can be found on the street. Note:-at this point, we do not have permission to park at St. George’s Round Church parking lot
A reminder to all band members that there will be no HCB rehearsals for the next two Tuesdays (March 7th and 14th). Regular rehearsals resume on March 21st. Our next concert will be Tuesday March 28th at the Bella Rose Theatre at 7 pm with the Halifax West Concert Band combined concert.

HCB Rehearsal notes Tuesday Feb 28

Hi all,
Our rehearsal on Tuesday February 28 begins at 6:30 pm in the music room of Halifax West HS. This is the last rehearsal before our concert on March 5th at St Patrick’s Church (2263 Brunswick St, Halifax).
For Tuesday’s rehearsal, we will again run all of the sing-along tunes with Dick Sayer and then run through our concert pieces (in order) for the March 5th Irish show.

HCB Rehearsal Notes Tuesday Feb 21

Hi all,
For our Tuesday, Feb. 21st rehearsal, we will be running through all of the Irish Sing-Along tunes with vocalist Dick Sayer. The following list covers all those tunes and we will rehearse them in no particular order.

The remainder of the rehearsal will be left for touch-ups of the other Irish pieces and I will announce those as we go.
Here is the information for our members regarding the Live Streaming Performance Workshops available through the Music Union.
Any musicians, aged 40 and above, (they don’t have to be Atlantic Federation of Musicians members) that would be interested in participating in a workshop education series to help musicians learn how to put a live-streamed performance together, start to finish, from your own location, please contact Dave Staples at davestaples54@gmail.com
The AFM received federal government funding to host this series at the Music Room and are offering participants $95 to attend the day’s workshop.
