HMCS Sackville Committal of Ashes Ceremony for September 2024

This link has been provided courtesy of Graham Powell, a clarinet player in the band. One of the persons whose ashes were committed was John Underhill, former President of the band, and trumpet player.
“John  Underhill is probably the second one, and my best friend  and co-worker (richard Nelis is third. very appropiate as this took place a few weeks before our concert on the waterfront, in front of HMCS SACKVILLE.”

HCB Rehearsal Notes Tuesday October 1

Hi all,
First of all, thanks very much for your Saturday performance on the waterfront (emphasis on water!). Some shaky moments, not the least of which was my conducting, but it was fun to get the cobwebs out! Overall, a very nice performance, considering the circumstances! I know the HMCS Sackville folks really appreciated our support.
Here are the rehearsal notes for our next Tuesday evening rehearsal October 1st. Please bring in your Funny Books for this rehearsal so that they can be returned to the library. We won’t need those again until February.
1) Warm-up-More Assorted Chorales 2) Warm-up Piece-Nimrod 3) Syncopated Clock 4) Earthdance 5) El Choclo 6) Highlights from Planes (sight-reading) 7) Amazing Grace 8) Postcard from Pittsburgh 9) Closer Walk with Thee
Thanks and see you on Tuesday. Dave

HCB Get ready to play on the waterfront today

HI All
The concert will happen as planned. Please be at the performance location on the waterfront side of the Maritime Museum, around the Anchor Yard by 1:00 PM. If you are helping to set up, be there at 12:45 pm.
The concert starts at 1:30 pm. Please wear your band shirt. If you don’t have one yet, you should wear a black shirt. Please bring a music stand and clothes pins (or any other method to prevent your music from being blown off your stand)
I am attaching the play list, in case you have misplaced it.
See you at 1:00 pm.
Thanks Dave
