Hi all, For all members, this is the first of a series of weekly email memos that get sent out by Bob Kanygin with rehearsal notes for the upcoming weekly Tuesday evening rehearsals. Along with these, this memo also includes details for our upcoming performance on the waterfront on Saturday, Sept. 27th by the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. That performance will only include returning band members from last year’s roster and our new members are encouraged and welcome to attend the event as audience. See details below.
Rehearsal Notes (for all members)
1) Warm-up Chorales-Son of Assorted and Bride of Assorted 2) Warm-up Piece-portions of Greensleeves 3) Three Classic Dances 4) Hebrides Suite 5) Cape Breton Trilogy
*7:30 pm-At this point, we will do the 50/50 draw and then new members will be dismissed for the evening*. Remaining members will then rehearse portions of the concert repertoire for the waterfront performance (end at 8:30)
*2025 HMCS Sackville Benefit Performance Saturday, September 27th/2025-1:30 to 3 pm The Anchor Yard behind the Maritime Museum*
The HCB performance for the HMCS Sackville Benefit performance will run from 1:30 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, September 27th on the boardwalk area behind the Maritime Museum (by the Wave) which is located on the waterfront directly behind the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
I would like everyone to please meet at the performance location by 1 pm on Saturday and give yourself ample time to find parking in the pay lots near the venue or on the streets surrounding the waterfront area. Also, anyone who can help with set-up of chairs, etc for the performance are asked to meet at the venue anytime after 12:45 pm. There is a room provided in the museum for cases and coats and you will be directed to that area when you arrive at the Anchor Yard site. Also, please bring your own music folders, music stand and clothes pins to secure the music. Dress for the performance is the band shirts, black pants/skirt and black shoes/socks. If you don’t have a band shirt yet, please just wear all black. Also, consider bringing a wind breaker or warm jacket.
Please note: There is no rain venue or rain date for this performance.
Cancellation notification will be via email from Bob Kanygin to all members before 12 noon on the day of the performance.
