HCB Impoortant Message from Holly

Hello everyone,
There has been a change in plans… there will be no dress rehearsal next Monday as the space at Halifax West high school is being used as it is their final concert. This means that our rehearsal tomorrow night is essentially going to be our full dress rehearsal so please come prepared to do a full run through of concert order.
If you would like to be one of the speakers for the concert, please email Holly, or let her know at tomorrow’s rehearsal.
The concert order is as follows:

*1. Mercer’s March*
*2. Nimrod*
*3. Earhart*
*4. Curtain Call*
*5. First Suite in Eb*
*6. How to Train Your Dragon*
*7. Themes from An Outdoor Overture*
*8. Cape Breton Idyl: Summer*
*9. The Beatles: Love*
*10. Hockey Night in Canada – Do we still do this one, even though the HABs are out?*
If you have any questions, please reach out to Holly: holly.leader@outlook.com
Thanks everyone,
Holly

HCB Looking for “sight-reading clarinetists” message via Becky Campbell

The Bridgewater Fire Department Band is playing at the Bridgewater Fire Department 150th Anniversary Open House on Saturday from 1-3:30pm.
I was informed last night that 2 out of 3 clarinet players are unable to play due to 2 unrelated funerals.
I am wondering and asking if you would be suggest some clarinet players who are extremely good sight readers I might approach to come out and help us out.
Please let me know @ your earliest convenience.
Thank you for any connections you may have.”

HCB Rehearsal Notes Tuesday May 26

Hello everyone,
Our concert is quickly approaching! I’d like to thank Dave for running our rehearsal last week. The Norovirus came with quite the force to our house that had us down and out all week! I have included the poster for the concert once again, please feel free to share this around! Our rehearsal, Tuesday, May, 26th, will go as follows (time permitting):
– Chorale Warm-Up – Mercer’s March – Nimrod – Themes from an Outdoor Overture – How to train your dragon – First Suite in E flat – Curtain Call – Earhart – Summer – Beatles – Hockey Night in Canada (I decided to bring this back into play – Go Habs Go!)

*Upcoming Dates:*
– Tuesday, June 2nd – Rehearsal – *Monday, June 8**th** – Would we like to do a dress rehearsal the night before?* – Tuesday, June 9th – Concert at The Bella Rose Theatre – Tuesday, June 16th – Potluck get together
For the Beatles song, please note once again the following score changes and make sure they are marked in your music:
At the end of measure 124, jump directly to measure 179 (Rock, “Sgt. Pepper” section). Continue playing through to the end to measure 202 (with the fermata). After the fermata, jump back to the pick-up into measure 127, and we end at measure 178.
Please note: the pick-up into “Hey Jude” is a quarter-note pick-up for oboe and horn.
Thanks everyone, and see you Tuesday,
Holly
